Real world studies show significant opportunity for performance improvements
Best-in-Class manufacturers in the food and beverage industry outperform their peers on a number of key performance indicators. Benchmark studies reveal how laggards should focus their efforts to catch up.
Over the past few decades, the food & beverage industry has
experienced a huge surge in demand. Former mom-and-pop businesses
have turned into global operations that produce everything from
cereals to pop drinks. As demand continues to increase, it is
important for companies to have the necessary analytics to
efficiently and profitably supply the market.
To compile a manufacturing benchmark study for food &
beverage manufacturers, we studied 725 manufacturing operations
worldwide. Researchers used Solarsoft's Informance Enterprise
Manufacturing Intelligence Suite, and IMPACT Advisory Services to
collect data, derive insight and discover correlations to
operational success of tactical and strategic actions.
The results are startling. Best-in-class manufacturers
achieved 86% higher OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) than the
poorest performing segment in the survey.
