Answer your toughest manufacturing and processing questions with the Mattec MES real-time manufacturing execution system
Gain access to real-time manufacturing information. Improve plant productivity and eliminate machine downtime. Increase productivity, unlock capacity and reduce inventory and labor costs.
Epicor's, formerly Solarsoft's, manufacturing execution
system, Mattec MES, provides real-time monitoring and control for
your production and process manufacturing. The system improves
productivity by providing accurate 24/7 real-time manufacturing
information of all your plant operations. Gain a competitive edge
for your continuous improvement initiatives with Mattec MES.
Mattec MES helps you reduce scrap, waste and machine downtime,
improve cycle times, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), plant
productivity and automatic part qualification, and schedule
production effectively. Mattec MES helps you become proactive in
your manufacturing operations and helps anticipate and solve
manufacturing problems before they occur. Helping you identify
resource inefficiencies, Mattec MES lets you do more with your
existing resources and find new capacity.

Mattec MES
Version 8 Now Available
Mattec MES Version 8 features a new graphical interface,
web-based, real-time production monitoring, enhanced scheduling,
and faster reporting to boost manufacturing efficiency.
Mattec MES Highlights
- Web-based real-time insight: Real-time
production monitoring from your intranet or the internet.
- Visual clarity: Color code R&D, test and
other non-production tasks to distinguish from production runs and
ensure time is reserved in the schedule.
- Production detail and descriptive information
at-a-glance: Users can now quickly see details with as
many as four labels for each job in the Scheduler.
- Machine odometer: Maintenance and reliability
teams can more accurately plan preventative maintenance activities
with easy-to-access machine condition reports and details and
answer questions like "How many hours has each machine run since
the last scheduled maintenance?"
- Quickly monitor up to 100,000 cycles: The
redesigned cycle history chart can be run within seconds, and
includes information from the last 100,000 cycles.
- Greater printing flexibility with Ultra Label Gold
printer redirect: Users can now add two printers per
machine with Ultra Label Gold, or use the new on-demand printing
module and Zebra for more options for bar-coded label
printing.
Real-time Information and Machine Alarms
- Actual machine and plant performance in real-time, including
actual production, scrap rate, down machines, process alerts,
operator assistance calls, and inefficient machines
- Actual cycle times to standard cycle times comparisons
- Real-time machine and tool preventive maintenance
information
- Instant alerts via stack lights, diverters, voice systems, and
visual displays for invalid process conditions and machine
downtime
- Alarms when scrap rates exceed threshold or when efficiency
drops too low
- Escalating email alarms sent to multiple people at different
times
Statistical Process Control
Mattec MES includes a comprehensive SPC program that provides
analysis of part weights and dimensions as well as critical machine
process parameters. The system collects machine process data
automatically, 24/7, for product traceability purposes.
Real-time Scheduling
The Mattec MES' drag-and-drop scheduler provides management with
a plant or enterprise view of what is happening on the production
floor. The real-time scheduler board automatically updates based on
machine run times and down time. The scheduler supports family
molding scheduling for injection and blow molding manufacturers and
Kanban scheduling. Various management and operator reports detail
the actual manufacturing performance vs. schedule and what
materials are needed for specific jobs.
Mattec MES OPC Connector
Epicor's Mattec MES OPC
connector uses the latest OPC technology - OPC Unified
Architecture. It's the new standard for secure, reliable and
vendor-neutral transport of raw data and pre-processed information
from your shop floor manufacturing operations into your production
planning, ERP, MIS or other software systems. Utilize Epicor's
Mattec MES OPC Connector to:
- Monitor machines, including ancillary-type (e.g. assembly)
machines to gain visibility into true plant or enterprise-level
OEE
- Eliminate hardware and wiring on the plant floor for
cost-effective and fast installation and maintenance
- Automate the collection of scrap counts and reasons as well as
downtime reasons from an OPC-compliant PLC
- Best of both worlds: Collect data from both hardwired Machine
Interface Units (MIUs) and OPC connectors into your Mattec MES
