Solarsoft's solutions for logistics management have been
carefully designed over many years to enhance many ERP system's
existing functionality in this area. While the ERP may support most
of the business perfectly well, this is an area that often has to
be enhanced by modifications, or by using 3rd party products which
then have to be interfaced to the ERP.
Solarsoft's solutions fully integrate into the ERP to make use
of existing functionality and data where possible, while adding
additional capabilities seamlessly.
Some of the areas covered by Solarsoft's software are:
Order Release and Pick Waves
To improve and manage the flow of work into the warehouse, this
module allows a supervisor to pull sales orders into the warehouse
in waves, grouped and sequenced by variable criteria. Waves can be
allocated and tracked for completeness to ensure loads are built
and ready for the vehicles arrival.
Marshalling and Vehicle Loading
Most ERP systems include batch based pick confirmation, and
dispatch /load confirm. However, to ensure real time visibility and
greater accuracy of dispatches, Solarsoft's solution takes this
much further. Orders or Loads are assigned to marshalling lanes
which can be monitored. Vehicles are loaded with RF terminals to
ensure only the correct pallets can be loaded, and none are left
behind. At the same time, the ERP system is being updated in real
time as each pallet is loaded so that invoices can be printed
earlier.
Warehouse Control
A single 'dashboard' of all open work within the warehouse. This
not only affords the supervisor a single screen to see all open
activity, it also allows for work to be assigned to specific users,
priorities to be changed and job instructions to be attached to
activities.
Coupled with the Activity Console, which displays the current
activity of all warehouse personnel, and Solarsoft's instant
messaging, this allows dynamic reassignment of labor to meet the
requirements of the workload.
Efficiency (KPI) data
An ERP system can report the numbers of SKUs moved around the
warehouse and dispatched over a set period. Solarsoft's Efficiency
module not only collects that, but also records time taken for each
activity, weights and volumes, aborted transactions, and overrides
at both at a line and summary level for each user. Non
transactional or idle time is also tracked.
The data collected can be used for far more detailed reporting and
analysis on warehouse efficiencies including layout, training,
shift patterns, etc.
