JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION CONSULTANT - PRE-SALES
XKO Software Limited is the leading UK provider of specialist ERP systems to merchants, distributors and manufacturers. Acquired by a new management team in October 2006 and recently merged with CMS Software of Toronto, Canada, the company has sales of over £25 million and employs 300 staff serving 1,400 businesses ranging from small family owned firms to large public corporations.
CMS-XKO has ambitious plans to grow its business. To back our growth, we are increasing investment in the modern, open technologies that underpin our Open Services Architecture and in the people and skills needed to bring new products successfully to market.
The company is now seeking a Pre-sales Product Consultant to join its Product Management team, reporting to the Pre-sales Manager. Our Product Consultants provide expert support to the sales team, helping win sales by explaining to potential customers how our products can deliver benefits to their business. Consultants also provide feedback to our developers about requirements and opportunities for future product enhancements. Following initial training you will be responsible for analyzing business problems faced by customers and prospects and conducting software demonstrations, technical workshops and presentations. You will also draft written proposals and requirements definition documentation for developers.
Success in this role will require good analytical abilities, coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills. An essential part of the job will be the presentation of products to prospective customers at operational and board level using Powerpoint and live product demonstrations. Success will require the ability to work confidently in a pressured environment.
Candidates will need to demonstrate knowledge of the UK distribution, merchant and/or manufacturing sectors, together with a general understanding of the needs of customers in these target markets. General knowledge of the required functional scope of integrated ERP systems will be helpful.
Candidates will be required to have achieved a degree qualification in a numerate subject or be able to show a track record of delivery in a relevant field. 3-5 years experience in a similar role or a commercial environment as a system user or developer will be expected.
Regular travel between XKO offices and to client locations in the UK will be required, as well as occasional overnight stays.
This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to work in a dynamic and stimulating environment. Salary and package will be competitive and the role will offer substantial scope for personal development.
